sanderson.allison_2025-01-08-222903_kvvlSioux Falls, South Dakota–On Monday, January 6, Allison Sanderson was named Chief Operating Officer for Children’s Home Society of South Dakota (CHS). Sanderson has served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for over a year and now replaces retiring Chief Operating Officer Deanna Larson. In her new role, she will be responsible for program strategy and leadership in a statewide capacity.

“Allison has a keen grasp on what it takes to manage operations within a large and complex social services agency,” according to Michelle Lavallee, Chief Executive Officer. “Her strengths are focused on building trust and transparency among our leaders and team members and within a human services organization, that goes a long way. Allison’s background in social services, quality, childcare and special education make her uniquely qualified to lead the many programs and services within Children’s Home.”

Prior to CHS, Sanderson served as Director of Human Resources at Southeastern Behavioral Health as well as Director of Childcare Programs at EmBe. In her early career, she taught Special Education at Children’s Hospital and School.

Sanderson holds a B.A. in Education with a minor in Special Education from Augustana University, in Sioux Falls South Dakota. She also holds SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management.
