At Children’s Home Society, we offer hope-centered, strengths-based and trauma-informed outpatient mental health services for children, adults and families. In Rapid City and Sioux Falls. We offer:

• Outpatient Psychiatry Services
• Outpatient Therapy (Individual, Family, Group) 
• Case Management Services

CHS is committed to serving clients by adding to and supporting policies, programs and practices that positively impact systems and communities around children and families. We strive to build collaborations and natural supports to foster collective hope for the stability and well-being of the children and families we serve.

Our experienced clinical professionals help clients establish goals towards positive well-being, determine pathways to meet these goals, assist clients in overcoming challenges and support their personal growth and wellness.

Holistic and Inclusive Wellness Approach

At CHS, we believe that the well-being of children depends on the well-being of their families, caregivers and support systems. Our approach is to understand and treat individuals within the context of their families and communities, and includes:

• Transitioning from residential treatment into the home setting
• Helping prevent involvement in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems
• Wraparound approach and continuum of care and healing
• Evaluations and follow-up and medication management
• Cultural/traditional resource coordination
• Training and education, including trauma-informed caregiver education

We collaborate with communities to help clients overcome barriers, identify resources, access services and to empower families, caregivers and support people.

Referrals Sliding Scale Fee and Insurance

CHS takes referrals from law enforcement, child protection, professionals and parents, as well as self-referral.

We offer a sliding scale fee with income guidelines and flexible appointment scheduling.

We accept direct pay, Medicaid and Medicare, and most other major insurance plans (Wellmark, Avera, Sanford, First Choice Health, DakotaCare, Tricare, United Health Care, etc.).
